Hawaiʻi Health & Harm Reduction Center (HHHRC) is thrilled to announce its participation in the 13th Festival of Pacific Arts & Culture (FestPAC), which will be held in Hawaiʻi from June 6 to 16, 2024. FestPAC is the world’s largest celebration of Indigenous Pacific Islanders, offering a vibrant platform for cultural exchange and the preservation of traditional practices.
Under the theme “Hoʻoulu Lāhui: Regenerating Oceania,” FestPAC Hawaiʻi 2024 aims to honor the rich traditions of Pacific cultures while looking toward the future. The festival, launched in 1972 by the South Pacific Commission (now The Pacific Community – SPC), seeks to counteract the erosion of these invaluable cultural practices through ongoing cultural exchange.
HHHRC’s participation in FestPAC is a testament to its commitment to community engagement and cultural preservation. The center will host a series of events and workshops focused on promoting sexual health, harm reduction, and overall well-being within the Pacific Islander community. These activities will be designed to align with the festival's theme, emphasizing the importance of health and wellness in the regeneration and sustainability of Oceania’s cultures.
Join us at FestPAC 2024 to celebrate the rich cultural tapestry of the Pacific Islands and explore the vital role of health and harm reduction in regenerating Oceania. Together, we can honor the past, embrace the present, and look forward to a healthier, more vibrant future.
